Safe Ministry
We are committed to providing a safe environment for all children. We comply with the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne Child Safety Policy and and its accompanying Code of Conduct. Both of these documents are available here to download.
Safe Ministry Requirements for Lay-Volunteers
All paid and volunteer ministry roles require a series of safe ministry checks. Below you can find out what checks your ministry area requires. These checks are the same for any Anglican church in the Diocese of Melbourne.

Obtaining a Clearance
Once you have been invited to join a ministry team, if you need a clearance (see above), follow these steps.

1. Apply for a WWCC (For those with VIT Registration, you will need to link this to WWCC.)

2. Complete a Police Check

3. Complete the training relevant to your ministry area.

4. Complete a Clearance [CLICK HERE] If the system says "email already registered," check your inbox for login details from OSCA.
What happens next?
After you have completed your clearance, Kooyoora processes the application and contacts your referees. They then then review your police check and confirm that the WWCC notification has been received. Then they perform a National Register and Kooyoora register check. If all outcomes are satisfactory, a clearance for service certificate is issued and added to your OSCA record (OSCA is Kooyoora's . An email notification is sent to the applicant to forward to their parish. If there are concerns regarding any of the outcomes, Kooyoora follow the process as set out in the Professional Standards Uniform Act.
Once you have received your clearance email, forward it to our administrator amy@merricreek.org
