OUR CONGREGATIONS

Merri Creek Anglican is made up of two congregations, meeting in Clifton Hill and Fairfield in Melbourne's inner north. As one church, the shape of services are largely the same across the two locations but reflect the local community we seek to serve. There are also opportunities for cross-congregation community building such as during Easter, Christmas, the monthly Healing and Prayer service as well as in bible study groups. You are welcome to visit us at either service - we would love to see you there.

Sunday services are when we gather as a congregation for mutual encouragement, to be Spiritually inspired and uplifted, and to listen to Biblical teaching.  For those who can't make it in person, the service is available as a livestream.

What can I expect during a Sunday service?

  • Sunday services generally run for 60-75 minutes and include music, bible readings, prayer, a sermon and creative elements

  • Preschool and primary school aged kids can join our creative and engaging children's program. It starts about 20 minutes into the service

  • We share in communion several times a month. You are welcome to remain in your seat if you are not taking communion. Children may receive a blessing in place of the sacraments

  • Giving is collected electronically (see the Giving page for more information) or in the box at the back of the hall

  • Sunday services are relaxed - you are welcome to come (and dress) as you are

Church doesn't just happen on a Sunday...

There is always something going on in the life of our church. This includes events, ministries and training.

God created us to live in community.

At Merri Creek Anglican, church life is structured around Sunday services and smaller groups, called Community Groups.

In these Community Groups, we share meals, pray, study the Bible and support each other. In this way, our groups form a kind of extended spiritual family, creating a space where we can be vulnerable and learn how to be disciples of Christ.

At Merri Creek, Community Groups generally involve 10 to 30 people (including kids) with some groups meeting weekly, others fortnightly and others monthly.
