Cultivating Life in our Neighbourhood
NEW TO CHURCH?
Here's what you can expect from one of our Sunday services:
-
People start to arrive from about 15 minutes before the service.
-
You will be welcomed at the entrance by some of our volunteers. They will give you a service booklet and be able to answer any questions you might have.
-
Services last for 60-70 minutes and include singing, prayer, Bible reading, a sermon, and community updates. Once a month, we share communion together during the service and sometimes there are baptisms.
-
The sermons are based on Bible passages and themes that are usually grouped in series. We are privileged to have a team of experienced preachers across both congregations. In the first half of 2024 our sermon seris are:
-
January 7 to March 17 – Have a Greater Righteousness: The Sermon on the Mount
-
May 19 to June 30 - Faithfulness and Suffering: The Book of Job
-
Throughout the year we will hear from speakers on issues of justice such as: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander justice, climate justice, and global poverty.
-
-
Occasionally we incorporate more creative forms of worship that help us to engage with the teaching ideas and worship with all our senses.
-
After the service, tea and coffee and a light morning tea are served and there is time to chat and get to know people within the community.
We'd love for you to join us for a Sunday service at 10am at Clifton Hill or 11am at Fairfield.
